Samsung, LG win CES best innovation awards
Korean tech giants Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics seized ex-cogitation awards at the Consumer Electronics Show 2014, the world’s most expectant electronics merchandise show.
In respective press releases, Samsung Electronics said it won twenty-four awards whilst its localized competitor LG arrogated 15.
Both companies won the Best of Innovations Award, which is given to those who have achieved the most breakthrough technological development and innovative design, for their TV products.
Samsung won the award with its smart TV (UN65H7100) and LG with its 77-inch Ultra HD curved-screen OLED TV.
Other Samsung products that won the awards include the phablet Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition and smart watch Galaxy Gear.
LG’s flagship smartphone G2, and its front load washer were among the products recognized for invention.
Concording to the Consumer Electronics Association, the organiser of the trade show, the CES Innovations Awards honour spectacular design and engineering science furtherances across 28 consumer electronics product categories, including two new categories this year: 3-D Printing and Additive Manufacturing, and Wearable Technologies.
The two Korean firms foreboded to make incessant efforts to bring on groundbreaking products in the market.

“The 2014 Innovations Award program ascertained a record number of entrances. We continue to be awed by the ingenious cogitated and design behind these award-winning conceptions, which meditate the true inspirit of CES and the technology industry,” said CEA senior vice president Karen Chupka.
The CES trade show is scheduled to be held in Las Vegas from Jan. 7 to 10 next year.
