Ever imagined your Refrigerator suggesting you, what to eat, what to cook, how to cook and calling you to remind what to get from market while you shopping in a Grocery Store. Yes, Smart refrigerators have come into the market for us.
South Korea’s LG Electronics unveils a refrigerator which suggests recipes as it forecast a bright future in the potentially lucrative market for “smart” household appliances.
It is the first Home Appliance – Smart Refrigerator which is connected to a Home Wi-Fi network and which can be accessed through your smart phone.
With the advent of Smart Refrigerators, consumers will be able to stay in contact with it at any time, enjoying greater convenience and seeing real-life, real-time improvements in energy consumption and time savings
- The smart fridge offers three energy-saving options as well as a “food management system” which tells users what is in their fridge, where it is and when its sell-by date expires.
- The information is available via smartphones or tablets, and can be accessed from a grocery store or restaurant.
- The machine can even suggest healthy recipes based on what foods are currently available.
The product costs about 3.6 million won ($3,296) Other items including ovens and camera-embedded vacuum cleaners remotely controlled by smartphones or tablet computers will be introduced later this year, he added.
LG came with this idea of Internet connected Refrigerators back in 2000 but it did not get expected response from market but”Now things are different, with Wi-Fi networks everywhere, smart phones so common and prices far more affordable,” Smart refrigerators are also supposed to be a huge success in market.
Of course who would mind his fridge telling what and how to cook today? What to get from market? Sheer Pleasure for people ignorant of cooking.
Happy cooking 🙂
